This is a tin basket hanging on the wall, inside two pillows and a small quilt. I Often use the quilt on a table or back of a chair. All three items have wonderful Autumn colors, with leaf and pumpkin prints. The brooch belonged to my great aunt. During my childhood, I was enchanted by the stones. The picture does not do it justice in beauty, but the memory is stronger than ever. The center large button came from her button bag. In a future post I will be sharing her old sewing tools and her treadle Singer. My aunt was a lady with great history, looking forward to introducing her to you, she holds my heart.
Table Quilt
This was a fun table quilt to make, I like to applique. I enjoy the various fabric prints and colors, also like to embellish. This quilt has some interesting knotted hand dyed thread on centers of flowers. The Brooch belonged to my Mother-in -Law, Iva, the best lady, I will be writing about her on my Mother's Day Posting.
Apple Pie Snowballs
In the Past, I enjoyed going to the orchard for apples. My family and friends liked me to bake my wrapped apples. Still to warm to bake in California, so no picture, they are delightful to look upon and delicious to eat. My mom liked to melt American cheese on hot apple pie, not me. I love ice cream on the side and a large dollop of whip cream, topped with a cherry. The recipe follows:Pastry for 2-crust pie, 6 large apples, Orange marmalade, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 4 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon allspice and nutmeg.
Prepare pastry and roll out thin on a floured board. Pare apples, leave whole. but remove the core. Fill each cavity with orange marmalade. Make a smooth paste of butter, brown sugar, and the three spices. Spread the paste over each apple. Wrap apples in pastry squares, pricking dough here and there with a fork. Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees, and continue baking 40 to 45 mintues. Best served warm.

Back To School
A quiet day, just sitting at my desk, thinking. Remembering my childrens back to school days. I miss the excitment of shopping for back to school clothes and school supplies. We had separate ventures. the boys day and the girls day. The boys were easy, In and out. The girls more hours, more decisions. Fun to reminisce, makes me happy, I am smiling, but to repeat makes me tired . May all the children enjoy their school days, be safe, learn, make friends, and parents, remember when.
Needs ,Shops, Blogging
Blogging was set aside for family medical needs for the past few months.Hope to step up my blogging time. I started The Red Chair Studio last year. At that time, I also started my Etsy shop of the same name. This year I started a Lollishop, Posies Pearls and Palette. A few months ago, I started a blog of the same name. The theme all things garden, flower fabrics etc.. Looking forward to Spring have worked on some new designs and bringing a new look and items. I need to get back to the studio, at present time working on Christmas items, really fun, Lollishops is having a Pink Christmas,Personally, I love pink and also they want us to use aqua. It will make a very pretty showing. I have put my Harvest Fall items in both shops, might get some more made?? I do have some Back to School items, perfect gifts for teacher. This picture is one that I used for a magazine Ad in Somerset Life Magazine, It was to advertise , Lollishop Venders. It was in Vol. 3 ,issue 3.

Salute To Courage
Today , My Daughter, Suz Ann is participating in an American Cancer Society Walk A Thon. One of many times in the past years. Sue is a two time cancer survivor. The first time for nine years and the second time is three years. I am so proud of her courage and all the ladies we have known who have fought the enemy, breast cancer. My heart goes to every man and women who has cancer of any type, our battle will continue, educate, research and powerful prayers. My daughter has a wonderful my space to connect with those who wish to touch another person with a common likness. Strength comes when we work and face the future together. I have made a little door hanger, peg, knob,etc. It will be sold on my lollishop site Posies, Pearls and Palette. It has the Pink Ribbon symbol, all the money will go to The American Cancer Society,and shipping is free. I will post the picture here on my blog. Remembrance
Remembrance of my dearest friend, Audrey was truly the best. We shared so easily, many laughs, our time together was pure enjoyment. I remember as if it was yesterday, so clear, then at times, so long ago. I want to share just one of her many talents, to show you two wonderful quilts. Audrey gave these to me as gifts.
